Further, by understanding the importance of mental health and sports performance, she includes other strategies such as cognitive and dialectical behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and psychological skills training (self-talk, goal setting, imagery, and relaxation). As a performance psychologist, she aims to strengthen the toughness of the tough-minded and toughen up the soft-minded so that athletes can see beyond their potential and see more than just a seed but what that seed can produce. Dr. Griffin has been married for 22 years with two children, ages 16 and 13. Both girls are active in sports, including club volleyball and competitive gymnastics. She enjoys going to movies, studying the bible, shopping, taking long walks, or riding her bike. Most importantly, she enjoys spending time with my family.
